Isabel Izek

As a senior consultant at GHV, Isabel works with the Africa Health Team, collaborating with partners including the Gates Foundation to advance locally led health technology solutions. Within her portfolio, Isabel brings expertise in product strategy, stakeholder engagement, and innovation ecosystem development to strengthen regional capacity and equitable access to health technologies.

With over ten years of global experience across the health technology value chain, Isabel has worked in industry (Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, bioMérieux) and global health innovation (Global Health Labs). She has led product development and market-shaping initiatives across Latin America, South Asia, North America, Europe, and Africa, connecting insights from end users, governments, and industry to guide equitable product design and adoption.  

Prior to joining GHV, Isabel was a product manager at Global Health Labs, a nonprofit funded by Gates Ventures and partners with the Gates Foundation, where she led the product management of a novel diagnostic solution in partnership with regional innovators.  

Isabel holds a BSc in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and an MSc in International Health Policy and Health Economics from the London School of Economics.  

Outside of work, Isabel is pursuing a dual-career PhD in Innovation, Economics, and Governance for Sustainable development at UNU-MERIT and enjoys playing soccer, hiking, traveling to visit family and friends, and photography.
