As a Senior Consultant at GHV, Hafeez supports the Gates Foundation’s Global Health Agencies and Funds work, focusing on the Global Financing Facility (GFF) portfolio. Within his portfolio, Hafeez brings expertise in innovative financing, fund design and market-shaping investments, including the design of risk-sharing instruments and blended finance solutions that align capital flows with global health priorities.
Hafeez has nearly two decades of experience in global health financing, impact investing, and strategy consulting, as well as skills in structuring financial mechanisms, advising policymakers, and negotiating with manufacturers across diverse markets.
Most recently, Hafeez served as a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group, where he focused on blended finance and fund design, leveraging public and private capital to catalyze investments in climate resilience, healthcare and financial inclusion across EMEA and South Asia.
Previously, Hafeez served as Vice President of Market Shaping Investments at MedAccess, where he structured and deployed guarantees to expand access to critical vaccines, diagnostics, and treatments, including the world’s first malaria vaccine. He was also Director of Innovative Financing at the Financing Alliance for Health. He began his career at Bain & Company and the Clinton Health Access Initiative.
Hafeez holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School and an MPH from Columbia University. He has lived and worked across Africa, South Asia, North America and Europe, and currently resides in Toronto, Canada.
Outside of work, Hafeez enjoys performing mediocre stand-up comedy at questionable dive bars across Toronto.
