Heather Monnet

As senior consultant for innovative finance and Gulf engagement at GHV, Heather supports the Policy, Advocacy, and Communications teams at the Gates Foundation. She contributes to strategy development across innovative financing, donor engagement, and resource mobilization. Heather brings expertise in external relations, stakeholder coordination, donor communications, gender mainstreaming, and project management.

Heather has over 25 years of experience in global health, international development, and public policy. Her skills include health financing, political advocacy, partner relations, and strategic communications. She has led high-impact mobilization strategies and built influential alliances across various partners.

Prior to GHV, Heather worked with the World Health Organization and the Gates Foundation, supporting global health initiatives including the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and the Global Financing Facility. Through engagement with public and private donors, development banks and civil society, she has contributed to the mobilization of significant global health funding and the advancement of gender equity.

Heather holds an MPH from Emory University and a BA in German literature from the University of California, San Diego. A former Fulbright Scholar, she is also a recipient of the WHO Director-General Award of Excellence.

She lives in Geneva, Switzerland. Outside of work, Heather enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, and playing the violin.
