Chris Hobbs has dedicated his career to building and developing systems that strengthen communities, improve health, protect the planet, and address inequities. His expertise is in creating operating environments and mobilizing resources that allow changemakers to achieve ambitious social impact. As Chief Operating Officer, Chris helps bring the vision and strategy of Global Health Visions to life by ensuring the organization’s resources, systems, and processes are optimized for impact.
Chris is a natural problem-solver and efficiency-seeker with years of experience building and leading diverse teams. His experience spans organizational capacity and infrastructure, talent development and retention, strategy implementation, and risk management.
Prior to GHV, Chris was the COO at Arabella Advisors, where he spent thirteen years. Under Chris’s leadership, Arabella moved the philanthropic field forward in establishing the practice of fiscal sponsorship and the use of intermediaries as an industry standard for innovation, advocacy, and donor collaboration.
Chris spent his early career in global health and development. At PSI, he developed and implemented HIV and family planning programs in southern Africa. He served in the US Peace Corps in Burkina Faso and holds a BS in business administration from the University of North Carolina. Chris and his family live in Los Angeles, California.
