Chris Hobbs

As Chief Operating Officer at GHV, Chris Hobbs helps bring the vision and strategy of Global Health Visions to life by ensuring the organization’s operating environment enables ambitious impact. During his time at GHV, he has helped mature GHVs organizational infrastructure and processes, recruited new talent and evolved GHVs approach to recruitment and retention and identified new ways to implement and measure the organization’s strategy.  He’s also worked to conceptualize new opportunities or expand existing work with partners including The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the UN Foundation and UNICEF.  

Chris Hobbs has dedicated his career to bringing ideas to life in the social sector.  He has 20+ years of expertise in organizational capacity and systems, talent development and retention, strategy implementation, and risk management.

Previously, Chris served as Chief Operating Officer at Arabella Advisors, where he helped move the philanthropic field forward in establishing the practice of fiscal sponsorship and the use of intermediaries as an industry standard for innovation, advocacy, and donor collaboration. He spent his early career in global health and development, working at PSI and as a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Burkina Faso.

Chris holds a BS in business administration from the University of North Carolina. He currently lives in California.  Outside of work, he’s often found testing out new recipes in the kitchen or exploring Los Angeles with his family.
