Elijah Kahn-Woods

As a senior consultant at GHV, Eli is supporting the Gates Foundation, Women’s Health (FP, MNCNH, WHI) and Primary Health Care (PHC) Program Advocacy and Communications (PAC) team. Within this portfolio, Eli is serving as a strategic project manager overseeing the MNCH Breakthrough Goal, and providing broader, cross-cutting strategic team support to the PAC team.

Eli has over a decade of experience working in global health with technical expertise in market dynamics, innovative finance, and health innovation, especially within global infectious disease markets.

Most recently, Eli was a senior market access advisor at USAID’s Center for Innovation and Impact, where he led new public-private partnerships and provided technical support in market dynamics and innovative finance across disease areas and country teams. Previously, he directed evidence generation and market access at UrSure, Inc., a diagnostics start-up acquired by OraSure Technologies in 2020. Eli began his market access work at the Clinton Health Access Initiative on the pediatric HIV Access Program.

Eli holds a BA in health and societies with a concentration in global health from the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated from the Civic Scholars program – a four-year training for individuals pursuing careers in social justice. After college, Eli lived and worked in Nicaragua before settling back in his home state of Massachusetts

Outside of work, Eli balances screen time with hobbies like music, woodworking, and fly fishing – pursued with varying success. He and his wife, Caoimhe, are proud parents to two toddlers, Éamon and Róisín, and a 100-pound Old English Sheepdog named Beasley.
