PROJECT NAME

WCAH Cluster Strategic Planning

Building on their strong, foundational work in Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health (WCAH), Management Sciences for Health (MSH) sought to define and hone its approach to the WCAH continuum of care. The strategic planning process aimed to strengthen the WCAH cluster’s efficacy and to foster synergies between the WCAH cluster and other clusters and focus areas, across the organization. The review process took stock of MSH’s unique contributions and challenges, identified key opportunities and threats on the horizon, and refined the strategic priorities, which would optimize MSH’s impact globally.

Between October 2016 and April 2017, GHV worked closely with MSH’s WCAH cluster to develop a robust Strategic Roadmap for Women’s Children’s and Adolescents’ Health, to guide the cluster’s work over a five year period (2017-2022). This project included a desk review, in-depth interviews with key MSH leadership, staff members and external stakeholders, an online survey, and the facilitation of a two-day workshop. In addition to the Roadmap, GHV produced a set of recommendations, to streamline and bolster the WCAH cluster, support partnership building with key partners and stakeholders, and to effectively deliver on strategic priorities.  The process, workshop facilitation, and key recommendations provided by GHV served to inform and support MSH in the finalization and implementation of the Roadmap, and helped to ensure that the Women, Children, and Adolescents Cluster at MSH was poised to achieve success.
