Ousmane KADRI NOUHOU is from Niger. He is an Engineer-Polytechnician, former Special Transversal Advisor to the President of the Republic of Niger H.E Mahamadou Issoufou (2017-2021), former Executive Director of the GURI Vie Meilleure Foundation of the former First Lady ((2017-2021), former Technical Advisor of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD, 2018-2021), expert in cross-cutting program and project management, and an expert in advocacy, media and event planning. Since May 2022, he has joined Global Health Visions.
Ousmane KADRI NOUHOU has over 15 years of professional experience and has worked with 15 countries (Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Chad, Benin, Togo, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ethiopia, Niger, Qatar, Turkey, Nigeria, Belgium, China) globally in the cross-cutting areas of agriculture, environment, health, education, humanitarian, advocacy and communication and development.
He has contributed to global work at various High Level Summits from 2018 to 2020, at all African Heads of State (AU) Summits, all United Nations General Assemblies (UNGA), the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), the International Conference on AIDS (ICASA), the Forum on Peace and Stabilization in the Central Sahel and Lake Chad, the International Women Leaders' Conferences on Peace, the African Union Summit on the Girl Child, and the International Women Leaders' Forum ("Women, Politics and Society").
Thanks to his team's advocacy (2019), Niger championed the Malaria Elimination Initiative in the Sahel region, championed the "Zero Malaria!" I pledge campaign, and championed the African Union's Pan-African Malaria Campaign as well as the development of the National Strategic Plan for the fight against viral hepatitis.
He has worked with key partners AFREXIM BANK, African Development Bank, African Capacity Building Foundation,Abbott, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, EGPAF-Washington, END Fund, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Global Fund, ADF, WHO, UNICEF, the World Bank, RBM, the African Union, the European Union, NEPAD, PEPFAR, the Global First Ladies Alliance, the George W. Bush Institute, Roche, Speak Up Africa, UNFPA, GILEAD Sciences, and the Merck Foundation.
He has coordinated projects on the response to COVID-19 in Niger, community support to HIV-positive pregnant women and children born to HIV-positive mothers, malaria control in Niger and the Sahel, viral hepatitis management, viral hepatitis screening, African Immunization Week, control of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), capacity-building training for gynecologists, oncologists, and gastroenterologists, and several projects in the areas of agriculture, environment, education, humanitarian work, and gender.
Ousmane holds a Master's Degree in Project Management from the University of Liège in Belgium, a Polytechnic Engineering Diploma from the Rural Polytechnic Institute of Training and Applied Research (IPR/IFRA) in Katibougou and a Diploma of General University Studies in Life Sciences (Biology-Biochemistry) from the University of Bamako in Mali.
