Civil Society Engagement in the Global Financing Facility: Analysis and Recommendations

Civil society brings a wealth of unique knowledge, expertise, and access to a range of communities, which can and should be leveraged to make the Global Financing Facility (GFF) process and outcomes stronger.

While there were significant challenges in identifying civil society representatives at the country level with knowledge of the GFF process, the authors were able to glean important and illustrative findings to inform recommendations. In addition, lessons can be learned from the engagement of civil society in other initiatives such as the Global Fund to Fights AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (the Global Fund), Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Scaling Up Nutrition Movement (SUN).
